‘Cabin in the Woods’ TV Spot, Featurette, Images, and Poster
“Cabin in the Woods [seems to take] the basic setup for your average horror flick (party-happy young people pay for their debaucherywhen sinister “monsters” attack) and adds… well, some sort of sci-fi twist involving honeycomb-patterned force fields and scientists running what appears to be a surreal, grand-scale experiment.”
This weekend we will finally get to see the long awaited Joss Whedon produced Cabin in the Woods after months (years) of teasing. It promises to look like you’re stereotypical horror/slasher but deliver something unpredictable. Since Joss Whedon is behind it (Drew Goddard of Coverfield is too, who ever he is) I don’t doubt his intentions are true. But we all know the road to a mediocre horror film is paved with good intentions. Yet, Joss Whedon isn’t known for doing anything mediocre. That’s right, if you haven’t already heard us gush about the great Mr. Whedon on the Creepercast, you might as well know that when it comes Joss we believe it is highly unlikely he can do wrong. So to say that we are excited to see new Whedon material (that isn’t ‘The Avengers,’ which no doubt will be great) would be an understatement. Make it a horror film about a haunted house controlled by a television crew and… could this be The Hunger Games? I’m actually thinking aliens are involved. I’m hoping the tagline “its not what you think” is telling the truth! So some one go see it this weekend and let me know if its what I think or not, and I’ll go the next day to see if you’re telling the truth. Obviously I can’t go see it this Friday the 13th. Jason might be there!
