Top 5 Creepy Kids from Hell!

Top 5 Creepy Kids in a Horror Feature!

Oh how well we remember those cute little kids in the movies we see. They always manage to use their innocence in such clever ways to manipulate adults into doing just about anything. But what of those that are innocent only on the outside while inside there dwells something dark and disturbing that can only be explained as evil? This list I’ve compiled is made up of those truly evil children that are cute and loveable when they’re giving you those puppy dog eyes but turn your back and you’re likely to find I knife stuck in it!

Ah, kids, we love them because they hurt us, but still look innocent doing it. Here’s some prime examples…

Honorable Mention!

Anthony Fremont (Bill Mumy) – Twilight Zone “It’s a Good Life” (Season 3 Episode 8 – 1961)

and/or

Anthony (Jeremy Licht) – Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983)

Twilight Zone: The Movie featured four directors (Joe Dante, Steven Spielberg, George Miller, John Landis) collaborating to remake four episodes of the popular television series. This one was directed by Joe Dante and also included the original Anthony (Bill Mumy) as Tim. Bill was of course the most popular red headed child of the 60′s with his long run as Will Robinson on ‘Lost in Space’ and made me think that all gingers like us could make it in the business!

#1 Esther (Isabelle Fuhrman) – Orphan (2009)

My Synopsis: Ok, Jason, now you know I get the same emails you do, and I have to tell you I am greatly concerned about your addiction to mail order Russian hookers. That’s right, this movie is an intervention. We care about you Jason, we all know how an addiction like Russian hookers can lead to adopting Russian children. It’s a gate way drug Jason, one thing leads to another and the next thing you know combining the two. If this movie teaches us anything its that you’re only going to get hurt. So please Jason, from your after life partner, lets not be in a hurry to get that after life.

#2 Damien Thorn (Harvey Stephens) – The Omen (1976)

My Synopsis: Rosemary’s Baby is now a wicked toddler. Who knew that cute little kid would turn into Sam Neil.

#3 Henry Evans (McCauley Caulkin) – The Good Son (1993)

My Synopsis: The Home Alone kid and Frodo Baggins hang out for a winter break. During their time together The Home Alone kid proves that all those funny pranks he pulled on Joe Pesci and his home break in buddy were only the beginning of a deeper seeded growth towards serial killer. A choice is made though, killing the Home Alone kid’s future in any other film.

#4 Rhoda Penmark (Patty McCormick) – The Bad Seed (1956)

My Synopsis: The perfect husband and wife have the perfect psycho daughter. Who would have though?

#5 Isaac Chroner (John Franklin) – Children of the Corn (1984)

I know, I know, the most memorable evil kid in this film is probably the sadistic killer Malachi. But Isaac’s creepy glare and Hitler like control over his followers is what earns him this honor!

Second honorable mention…

Ok, so I cheated on this list a little. Here’s a couple more honorable mentions that didn’t quiet make the cut for the big list…

Lilith Sullivan (Jodelle Ferland) – Case 39 (2009)

You can hear Jason and I talk about Lilith in Creepercast Episode 44 where we agreed that sometimes when a kid seems like they’re possessed it’s even worse!

and, yes, finally…

Gage Creed (Miko Hughes) – Pet Cemetary (1989)

I can’t believe I originally left Gage off the list! Thank you late night TV for reminding how creepy this toddler is! “I want to play with youuuuuuuu!”

So there you have it, Jeff’s list of Creepy Kids in a movie. Be sure to listen to Jason and I discuss the top 3 in no certain order in Creepercast Episode 76 where Jason and I disagree on what makes these kids creepy. Until next time…

Farewell from the beasts and I,

J.P. (Jeff) Hunt
