Title: Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 8

Basic Plot: We pick up with Buffy and the Scoobies a year after the TV series has ended. Buffy now leads an “army” of slayers with her pals Willow and Xander. No longer hidden, Buffy is being hunted by the U.S. Gov. who see her and the other slayers as a major threat. Not only that, but a mysterious hooded figure called “Twilight” is this seasons Big Bad, causing more trouble for Buffy and her friends. Rounding out the seasons cast… little sister has gotten herself into “big” trouble, we see the return of Dracula, some nasty Asian
vampires, Faith and Giles and speaking of Faith… if you thought one rouge slayer was bad… what about a whole group of them… all with the same powers as Buffy. Hang tight kids… it’s a bumpy ride.

My likes/dislikes: Ok so first I gotta say… if you think waiting a few months for a show to come back on is tough… how bout waiting for years. That SUCKS. Originally launched in 2007 Buffy season 8 was a god send to me… I loved the show. However you know how when you are streaming a video and get interrupted by buffering? How you are like “man this frustrates me all to hell?” Well imagine the buffering lasting a month. Yeah, that’s what its like waiting for this. Anyway, I decided to wait till the run had finished to read the whole thing. Kinda like waiting for the whole season to come out on DVD to watch it all in one sitting. The series was supposed to be a run of 25 issues (about the length of any TV show) but instead ran 40 issues plus a couple of one shots. So that’s like 3 plus seasons… that’s how long I had to wait.
So whats to like? Its freakin Buffy man! Its written by Whedon! Its like the show never left. Its got all the same angst as before, twists, Buffy vocab, time traveling Buffy, Buffy the lesbian and the return of Spike! It has the over all story arc plus mini story arcs as well. Need I go on?
OK, now for the bad. 3 years to get to the finale. My biggest dislike is the lack of consistent artists. While the writing and dialogue hold up like you are watching the show the artists seem to come and go and some of it is awesome… some of it not so much. Also with it having such a long run its like they tried to do too much. Its not unusual for something like Buffy to bring people back later in the show even if we thought they were dead. But this brought EVERYONE back except Joyce, Buffy’s mom. We get Riley, Amy, Oz, Spike, and 
Angel… Hell they even bring back Warren – skinless and all. My other sort of dislike is with the return of Angel and Spike. Watching Buffy you didn’t have to watch Angel to know what was going on. But not only did Buffy get her own comic… so did Spike and Angel. And their returns are somewhat confusing to say the least. I wont spoil it but its weird. ~Capt. Creeper Approved
